Numerous staff rest areas within Manchester airport have experienced dilapidation and require attention in order to provide friendly and comfortable environments for their staff to relax.
Strzala Architects were tasked with re-designing a new standard for these areas and would be incorporated into all future staff rest rooms. With various requirements and different nature of the rooms, the design required a flexible and robust solution, it was also extremely important to understand the different needs for each department in order to fulfil the staff’s needs and wishes.
After the above considerations, Strzala Architects developed the scheme into four typical solutions that can be applied across all the airport’s departments. We also paid special attentions on materials choices, maintenance requirements and the possible future expansion to satisfy the client’s concerns.
