Salford Quays

Pearson Vue computer based testing appointed Strzala Architects to provide a full architectural service from RIBA Stages 0 to 6 for the refurbishment of their head office based in Salford Quays. The refurbishment included a complete replacement of all internal finishes, a new intelligent lighting scheme and interior design / layouts for the new contemporary office.

Our design moved away from the typical cubicle office layout which the office staff had grown tired of and created a 'club' type office environment with a range of different work settings, incorporating hot desks, small informal meeting pods, private offices and larger meeting rooms. Where privacy is needed for the latter of these spaces, full height glazed partitions are used providing acoustic privacy and partial visual privacy through use of strategically placed glazing manifestations. This allows the office to remain open visually, promoting a feeling of spaciousness and maximising natural daylight penetration as well as views to the outside from all desks.
