Sale Cycle Hub

PR-Sale Cycle Hub- (5).jpg

Sale, Greater Manchester

Strzala Architects were appointed by TfGM to provide design for the conversion of a dilapidated station platform building at Sale Metrolink Stop into a cycle hub to provide secure cycle storage and locker facilities for cyclists.

The existing building was not listed, however the design was sympathetic to the historical station building, retaining the external and internal brickwork which was deep cleaned and repointed. A delicate contemporary intervention to the main facade in the form of a widened opening to contain bi-parting autodoors is spanned with a slender grey steel beam displaying simple "sale cycle hub" signage.
