Strzala were appinted to provide full architectural services including contract administration for the comprehensive refurbishment and reconfiguration of this major city centre building which had suffered from many years of dereliction.

The building which was previously a bespoke YMCA HQ required comprehensive surgery, as well as great sensitivity to convert it to contemporary office space. Early support was obtained from English Heritage, and additional financial support from a number of interested parties.
Strzala’s contemporary intervention on the Grade II* listed building created a high end office environment with an impressive feature atrium and entrance, creating a statement in keeping with the existing building and surrounding city centre location.

We are currently looking at the next phase of the life of this building from a refurbishment and extension point of view.
